We love Bun B. We miss the hell out of Pimp C. That’s just the natural order of things and arguably Houston’s most underrated rhymer, Killa Kyleon, took some time to dedicate visuals for his lyrics aimed towards the deceased half of UGK. Killa explains the state of Hip-Hop to The Pimp, noting in particular that as the South began really take over the scene, its biggest stars found themselves heading to jail when it should’ve been the bank. A sensitive subject for me, Chad’s death altered a lot of things in the tight knight circle that is rap music below the Mason-Dixon line. Gauging by what Kyleon vented in his “Letter…,” it’s obvious we see eye to eye on the subject.

Slightly less important, that Tony! Toni! Toné! “Anniversary” sample is always money. Word to Joe Budden’s “If I Die Tomorrow.”
